Description from manufacturer
Bourne Prisma Carbon 2, 2022, is a new racket from Varlion with a hybrid shape and a strong focus on power. The racket encompasses a lot of power and an extremely enjoyable feel! Bourne Prisma Carbon 2, as the name suggests, is equipped with Varlion's unique PRISMA frame. The PRISMA frame provides better aerodynamics and cuts through the air to enable a faster swing with 10% reduced air resistance, while the outermost edge of the frame is reduced by 90% and is just a few millimeters wide so you have the smallest possible contact area that can hit the glass when you dig deep for the balls. This all means better maneuverability of the racket and greater acceleration capacity upon impact. On the other hand, we have reinforced its most delicate tip (the head) with an adhesive bumper that perfectly adapts to its shape, the Prisma-bumper. This not only covers the frame but also its connection to the racket's plane. The racket has a hybrid shape between drop and diamond and a medium-high balance to give you the largest possible sweet spot and power in the racket, which can be likened to an oversized diamond shape. Bourne is a model that was born in 2018 from the fusion between Cañon (diamond shape created in 1995) and Avant (tear shape created in 2009). As a result, we achieved a drop-shaped racket, designed for players seeking control in their play without losing power. To make this even more generous, Varlion uses its Gradual Holes technology, which means that the holes on the hitting surface are drilled in different sizes. The holes are made larger the closer to the frame they get, to compensate for the stiffness of the frame and create a more homogeneous feel across the entire hitting surface. The racket's core is medium-hard and provides a good bounce on the ball but can also withstand extra pressure when needed. On the surface, Varlion has, in an exclusive collaboration with Italy's largest carbon fiber manufacturer, used a 3K carbon fiber that is also used by well-known brands like Ferrari. The carbon fiber maintains a higher standard than usual and also provides more performance. When it comes to applying effects on hits, it features a rough texture on the plane called Slice, designed and developed with a series of curved lines that make the ball stick more. Since these contours are molded into the surface, the structure will never disappear. Unique to Varlion's rackets is also the way the safety strap is attached to the handle itself instead of the knob. This means that the safety strap is more or less impossible to tear off. If you are instead looking for a racket with a bit more control, we recommend the LWC 8 Prisma Pansy or LWC 8 Prisma.
