Description from manufacturer
Varlion Maxima Summum Prisma is the successor to the immensely popular Maxima Summum Prisma, now with a new and exclusive look that matches its characteristics. This racket encompasses an absolutely incredible feel! There is plenty of power, and the Maxima shape is probably the best all-round shape. Thanks to its round hybrid shape between round and drop, with medium balance, Maxima has a large and generous sweet spot, and to make this even more generous, Varlion uses its Gradual Holes technology, which means that the holes on the hitting surface are drilled in different sizes. Maxima is a model that was born in 2020 from the fusion between LW (rounded shape created in 1995) and Avant (teardrop shape created in 2009). As a result, we achieved a rounded drop-shaped racket, designed for players seeking control in their game without losing power. The PRISMA frame provides better aerodynamics and cuts through the air, allowing you to get a faster swing with 10% reduced air resistance, while the outermost edge of the frame is reduced by 90% and is only a few millimeters wide so you have the smallest possible contact area that can hit the glass when you dig deep for the balls. All this means better maneuverability of the racket and greater acceleration capacity on hits. On the other hand, we have reinforced its most delicate tip (the head) with an adhesive bumper that adapts perfectly to its shape, the Prisma bumper. This covers not only the frame but also its connection to the racket's plane. Bourne Summum Prisma also has the unique Summum shape, which means that the handle is 2 cm longer than usual and that the hitting surface is 1 cm longer than usual. This means that you can more easily hit a two-handed backhand and get a greater leverage effect in the strokes and can generate more power. To make this even more generous, Varlion uses its Gradual Holes technology, which means that the holes on the hitting surface are drilled in different sizes. The holes are made larger the closer they get to the frame to compensate for the stiffness of the frame and create a more homogeneous feel across the entire hitting surface. The core is Varlion's Winter core and is a softer core that provides a good bounce and is adapted for play under 25 degrees. On the surface, in an exclusive collaboration with Italy's largest carbon fiber manufacturer, Varlion has used a 12K carbon fiber that is among others used by well-known brands like Ferrari. The carbon fiber provides a very good exit on the ball without being too stiff and is uncolored in the actual color that is visible in the image instead of being painted. This provides a better feel from the carbon fiber. The carbon fiber direction is also turned 45 degrees to create a 3D effect that allows more carbon fiber strands to be used with each stroke, and you can take full advantage of the racket's material. When it comes to applying effects to the hits, it presents a rough texture on the plane called Slice, which has been designed and developed with a series of curved lines that make the ball stick more. Since these contours are molded into the surface, the structure will never disappear. Unique to Varlion’s rackets is also the way the safety strap is attached to the handle itself instead of the knob. This means that the safety strap is virtually impossible to tear off. This model is made 100% by hand in Spain in Varlion’s very own factories. If you're looking for a racket with more power instead, we recommend checking out Bourne Summum Prisma. If you would prefer even more control, we recommend LW Summum Prisma.

Have been very satisfied with the racket since I started playing with it. But I've begun to realize that it's probably a bit too advanced for my level, really.

Overall, very satisfied with the racket! Love the slightly longer handle. However, I'm starting to wonder if it might be a bit stiff.

Good in the volley game and grateful to return and defend with. However, a bit more difficult to handle overhead.

Comfortable in defense and basic shots, but a bit harder to lob with and not as pleasant overhead.

Good at the net and groundstrokes, a little harder to lob with and the sweet spot feels limited.
