There are a variety of different materials used in different models and in different layers. We have, with the help of the brands and by comparing different models, tried to classify them into soft, medium, or hard cores. One could say that a soft core generates more speed while a hard core provides more control. Most brands today use EVA material with varying densities. Since different racket manufacturers use different designations, it is difficult to compare anything other than the hardness.
